CO:LLABORATION at theCO
“In the next year, I think it would be great to integrate our CO.STARTERS program with CO:llaborate. After the 9 week program ends, the work is just beginning. I think having our CO.STARTERS graduates attend CO:llaborate would be helpful in continuing their business venture(s), in having a small community of like-minded business owners to connect with.”
Our First Year at theCO
"It was kind of a like an “if we build it, they will come” philosophy. And that has proved to be true. We built it and people have come."
Made at theCO with Paul Smoke
CO:member Paul Smoke, owner and founder of McLane Guitars uses the laser etcher at theCO to build and modify his custom-made guitar pick-up frames and pick guards.
What is CO.STARTERS?
CO.STARTERS went a long way to provide me with a foundation in the basics of business with an emphasis in doing business, not just knowing business theory. Anybody who is beginning a business or considering beginning a business is a fool if they don’t participate in the program.

"I love the fact that I can come here and people actually understand what I’m talking about. There are a lot of like-minded people here who love to create and are really innovative. That’s great energy to be around."
DIY: Jewelry Box with Aaron Hardin
CO:member, Aaron Hardin loves using the laser cutter / etcher we have in our makerspace. We caught up with him as he worked on his latest project, a do-it-yourself wooden jewelry box.
Member Spotlight: Courtney Searcy
"Everything I’m involved in is fresh and new. That’s both exciting and scary, because I can’t know the outcome of any of it. So for now, I’m still here because I’m seeing growth and opportunity to do the things I love."
