Learn the basics of Tinkercad, an online app used to create and print 3D models. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to create and digitally fabricate 3D models and be fluent in Tinkercad's easy to learn interface.
May 28th, June 4th & June 11th 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
This series of workshops will differ from traditional classes as the intent is to be a collaborative earning environment. the first part of the course will introduce you to Tinkercad, then you'll work at your own pace to complete a series of simple tutorials to familiarize yourself with the software's functions. You will then develop a project --you will pick your own-- and begin design of the project with the workshop leader, Paul Taylor, and other workshop participants to assist you in problem solving. You will be encouraged to share your project's progress between classes and share any tricks or hints as you learn.
You do not need to have any prior experience with Tinkercad or any other 3D modeling applications to be successful in this workshop.
Who should take this class? Anyone who is eager to design and digitally fabricate objects on a 3D printer, laser cutter or CNC milling machine.
Be sure to bring: your laptop and a mouse (preferred over a laptop trackpad).
