We're excited to have our Screen Printing studio up and running so that it can be an added resource for you. Whether you have a specific project in mind or you just want to add another skill to your DIY repertoire this workshop is your starting place.
Saturday, April 16th, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
You'll learn how to transfer your design to a silk screen and then make a print with your custom screen. We have just 8 spots available, so sign-up fast! You'll leave with a ready-to-print screen with the design of your choice (that can be used to print over and and over again), a work cloth with your design printed on it and mostly the skills to take future screen printing projects from start to finish.
Be sure to bring:
- pdf or jpeg file to print on a transparency-- We are making a single color print so be sure that your image is a black and will fit on an 8.5 x 11 transparency (example right). Please bring it on a jump drive or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the workshop.
- Additional items to print. We'll provide you with scrap to print on and you'll leave with a work cloth but if you have a t-shirt or a few additional items you'd like to print feel free to bring them.
- No prior experience required. Oh and we'll have coffee & bagels!
Fee: $80, $75 (CO:member)
Zac Pankey is an artisan welder and woodworker and has been a screen printing guru since he learned how to do it a few months ago. He's one of our extraordinary interns and is responsible for many of the creative additions to theCO recently (including the very work table this workshop will take place on).
